Why Cheirosa 62 Layers So Well
The important thing about 62 is that its gourmand character is multi-dimensional.
It isn't simply vanilla.

As a Base Layer — 84/100
Cheirosa 62 is a good base, but not quite as strong a base as Grand Soir.
The reason is persistence.
A strong base should ideally remain underneath the second fragrance for a long time. Cheirosa 62's mist format is wonderfully convenient for layering, but user reports frequently mention its relatively limited longevity.
So its base-layer performance depends heavily on what you are layering over it.
Particularly good base-layer combinations
A natural combination. The pistachio and salted caramel prevent the vanilla from becoming one-dimensional.
Probably one of the smoother directions: creamy gourmand + creamy wood.
Creates a warmer, richer and more sophisticated gourmand.
The contrast between juicy/floral rose and caramelized vanilla can be surprisingly effective.
Moves the fragrance toward a tropical creamy gourmand.
This is where 62 becomes especially playful: it can make fruity-floral fragrances creamier and more dessert-like.
As an Overlay — 93/100
This is where I think Cheirosa 62 deserves its highest score.
Unlike Grand Soir, it doesn't necessarily try to replace the identity of the fragrance underneath.
Instead, it can function like a gourmand filter.
Put another perfume underneath and 62 can add:
pistachio + caramel + vanilla + creamy warmth
without necessarily destroying the original composition.
This behavior is supported by the number of community combinations people report. Users have paired 62 with Vanilla 28, Alien Goddess Intense, Love Don't Be Shy, Girl of Now, Juicy Couture Gold Couture, Good Girl Supreme, Bon Bon, YSL Libre and other fragrances.
There is also a useful recent example of 62 being layered with Kayali Boujee Kitty Caramel Milk: the combination was described as essentially retaining 62's familiar vanilla/caramel/pistachio/almond character while giving the caramel more impact.
That is almost exactly what an effective overlay should do.
